About Us
Rick Bate has been involved in various aspects of photography since graduating from Duke University in 1969. For much of this time he photographed horses and horse shows around the United States including such shows as the National Pleasure Horse Championships, Minnesota State Fair, Keswick, Sedgefield, Washington International, Rochester International, Detroit Motor City and many others.
Needing time with his family, he stopped photographing horse shows and bought a commercial and portrait studio in 1991. He more than doubled its size before he merged his studio four years later with B. Artin Haig Photography, one of the best known studios in the Milwaukee area. After working as a partner with B. Artin Haig for seven years the studio was sold.
Enjoying his new-found freedom, Rick has accepted a diverse selection of assignments. These include family portraits, business portraits, high school seniors, children's portraits, publicity photos, corporate photography, product photography, photojournalism, horse shows, and farm visits.
We invite you to browse through the galleries, look at our examples, and then email us or give us a call to explore ways we can help you satisfy your photographic needs.
